Kelly Ann signs with the Mortimer Literary Agency. (Mortimer Literary Agency)

While attending RWA's National Conference in Dallas, TX, Kelly Ann met and signed with Kelly Mortimer of the Mortimer Literary Agency. She had been cooresponding with Kelly for several months about her writing projects. Kelly Mortimer is a terrific agent and a fun, inspiring person to work with.


"Kitty's Fire" Wins in the Dixie First Chapter Contest.

"Kitty's Fire" wins first place in the Inspirational Category and the full manuscript is requested by an editor at Steeple Hill.

The Daphne du Maurier Award Contest opens January 15th 

On January 15th the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence Contest will begin.  Kelly is the co-coordinator for the published division.  Novels with a 2006 copywrite that meet the contest criteria can be entered.  Deadline for entries is March 15th.  There is also an unpublished division.  For more information visit the Mystery Suspense Chapter of the RWA's web site at www.rwamysterysuspense.org  and/or contact Kelly at PubbedDaphne@aol.com for information for the published side of the contest.

"Kitty's Fire" wins 3rd place in the ACFW Genesis Contest

In September, Kelly Ann attended the American Christian Fiction Writer's conference in Dallas, TX, where she got to meet with other writers, agents and editors.  The theme of the conference was New Beginnings.   An extra special  highlight of the trip was the announcement of the 2006 Genesis Contest winners.  "Kitty's Fire" won 3rd place in the Romantic Suspense Category.

"Cargo to Die For:  A Want Ad Mystery" wins 2nd place in Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence Contest

July 25-30   Kelly Ann traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to attend the national conference of the Romance Writers of America.  The conference offered wonderful workshops and networking with other writers and publishing professionals.

On Thursday, July 27th, Kelly Ann attended KOD's Death by Chocolate party.  As Co-Coordinator of the published Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence contest, she had the privilege of announcing winners and handing out awards to the published contestants.  She also received an award in the unpublished side of the contest for "Cargo To Die For: A Want Ad Mystery,"  "Cargo  To Die For" won 2nd place in the Inspirational category.
